Walking

Devon is a beautiful county for walkers and offers a wide variety of different walks.  The South Hams is an ideal base to access all types of walks.
Many towns and villages through out Devon have heritage trails which make enjoyable walking and give the visitor a chance to learn about the surrounding countryside and take in some local history.

Half of the area of South Devon has environmental protection due to the landscape value and amenities offered to both locals and visitors.

Every year there is a walking festival offering guided and self-guide walks.  South Devon areas of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) offers guided walks.  All different and for all ages and abilities and some walks designed for families.  The walks will be either along estuaries, coastal paths or through the countryside.
