Description: The 550th Anniversary of the Granting of the Town Charter
From Thursday 16th June – Sunday 19th June inclusive there will be a variety of events happening in the town as part of the charter medieval festival – with something for everyone – highlights include:
* A 4-day Flower Festival in St Edmunds Church themed across the ages
* A Concert of medieval music and then on SATURDAY 18TH JUNE the town will hold its main event of the Festival :

Noblemen and women monks peasants knights merchants butchers bakers candlestickmakers lords and ladies villains and villains ….whatever your station or calling in life, now is the time to be whatever you want!
Just choose an appropriate costume and be someone else for a day……
Calling all strolling players dancers minstrels acrobats troubadours morris men story tellers musicians and jesters …. make Kingsbridge your “stage” for the day……
Chefs cooks brewers ….. tempt us with your tastes and smells! Create some medieval flavours for our town tables that day…and enter our Olde English food competition….
Quilters embroiderers seamstresses tailors……. Bring out your banners! Create your own crest or heraldic emblem…You make them – we will hang them….
Castle builders carpenters stonemasons wrought iron workers …. can you spare a little time to help recreate medieval Kingsbridge, if only for a day?
Artisans craftsmen and women artists …show us your skills, sell us your wares…..
Try your hand at some traditional crafts…or just marvel at the techniques of others
